Project Description
In the proposed concept design we tried to define some alternatives architectural solutions for the bridges of the Western High Speed Diameter in St. Petersburg.
The solutions show an extradosed steel structure characterized by the pylons which are the most stimulating parts of the work. The steel structures of the pylons and deck are supported by reinforced concrete piers.
A not so deep vertical groove placed in the frontal part of the pylons with a lateral steel sail and the general idea to make clear and readable the structural behaviour of the work have been the basic elements we used in order to give a new picture of the landscape we are going to built using colours, shadows and lights.
